Licensed Naturopathic Doctors in the province of Ontario are health professionals regulated by the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO). They have a large scope of practice and all have 4-year degrees from an AANMC-accredited educational institution. Our Naturopathic Doctors have all passed NPLEX I & II – the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations administered by the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners (NABNE).
Naturopathic Doctors take a thorough, person-centred, evidence-informed approach, for individualized, whole-person health care. These kind of doctors take into account your emotional well-being and experiences, in addition to your past medical history, current diagnoses and experiences.
Diagnostic assessment methods may include blood laboratory testing such as baseline blood work and food sensitivity testing, as well as primary care physical examinations (which may include taking your blood pressure, looking into your eyes, doing a pelvic exam etc.)
Prescription plans are designed with your achievable and sustainable health outcomes in mind. They can include recommendations in the form of clinical nutrition including diet, food and vitamins, acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine, herbal & botanical medicine, lifestyle counseling, homeopathic medicine and mental health support. Some NDs provide Intravenous Micronutrient therapies and Injections as well.
The clinical focus of a naturopathic doctor depends on their experience and interest. Our diverse team of naturopathic doctors have a broad range of interests and experiences to support your health and wellness needs.
This team supports patients with conditions including digestive concerns & hormonal issues (Dr. Tabar), eczema, migraines & seizure disorders (Dr. Hwang), pregnancy, fertility & paediatrics (Dr. Krishnamurti) and chronic infections such as lyme & cancer (Dr. Kwan). Read more about each provider individually in their personal biographies.
Naturopathic medicine is often covered under extended health benefit insurance plans. Ask our office about direct billing if you have extended health benefit coverage.
A Naturopathic Doctor can be a significant supporter in their patient’s health journey.
An ND teaches principles of healthy living, sharing strategies about thriving and living beyond survival and instead towards having optimal health, well-being and balance in the mind, body and spirit.
