Acupuncture is the practice of inserting fine needles into certain points along meridians of Qi moving through our bodies. We use Traditional Chinese Medicine systems of healing to inform which points can best affecting Qi flow.

Acupuncture is most known to support stress and pain, and has also been studied and shown to support people experiencing other conditions including:

  • anxiety, depression and grief
  • acute injuries & chronic pain
  • insomnia & difficulty sleep
  • low energy & fatigue
  • digestive issues
  • menstrual pain and hormone cycle irregularity
  • fertility & pregnancy related issues
  • addictions

We offer individual one-on-one private appointments and community (group-style) acupuncture treatments.

Acupuncture treatments are typically provided by a Registered Acupuncturist. Naturopathic Doctors can also practice the controlled act of acupuncture within naturopathic appointments.

Our acupuncturist & naturopathic providers offer Free 15 minute Consults Meet and Greet to learn more and find out if Acupuncture is a good fit for you.

Is Acupuncture covered under OHIP?

No, acupuncture at our clinic is not covered under OHIP. Any treatment that includes acupuncture may be covered by a private insurance or extended health benefits plan.

If your benefits include Acupuncture as a separate category, check with your insurance provider to see if care by a Registered Acupuncturist is covered, or alternatively if you have coverage for Naturopathic care.

How Long is an Acupuncture treatment?

The first appointment with our acupuncturist is 75 minutes and involves a Traditional Chinese Medicine intake and assessment, plus a treatment.

Follow-up appointments are recommended to be 60 minutes in either private or community acupuncture settings.

What is Community Acupuncture?

Our clinic has a community treatment room where we perform intravenous vitamin therapy and community acupuncture. In the community setting, each patient has an individual chair and may be receiving treatments alongside other patients. Patients still receive a simple assessment and receive the needles. They are the perfect complement to meet the recommended frequency of acupuncture treatments at potentially a more reasonable price. There are also therapeutic benefits documented for those receiving acupuncture community treatment settings. Please inquire to see if a community-style treatment could be suitable for your needs by your health care provider.
