Grief is not only about losing someone dear to you. Grief includes all kinds of loss, change and tragedies that come and go and continue in this life.  Learning another way to cope with grief, stress or daily micro-aggressions builds your capacity for adversity – not so you can keep experiencing these hard times, but because the hard times are happening and you want to remain in your power as you embrace reality and decide what to do with what is.

This is not a bereavement group, though the bereaved are invited to attend.  This is a capacity-building program centered around integrating grief. We achieve this by eating whole foods, practicing meditation and embracing the reality of what IS in your life so you can wield your power to thrive.

This is an opportunity for you to take time and space to grieve, 

to do it in your own way,

within a container of care & regard 

and 

to support your whole body and soul to heal. 

When the grief is tragic, systemic and phenomenally painful, but we still have to keep working, parenting, studying & “doing” life, then there can seem to be no end.

Grief integration is about relieving suffering by actively integrating what IS in tiny moments, so you can feel relief from the burdens you carry and raise your skills to embrace the emotions and sensations of grief and loss. 

When left unattended, Grief consumes Life Force.

When regarded, grief instead transforms.

“Grief Integrations” support us when we are in acute grief or ongoing suffering.  From random moments when grief rises, to intentional Grieving practices, Grief Integration helps deal with the sometimes staggering weight of what we are to bear in this lifetime.  By practicing while outside of intense moments, one can cultivate the stability necessary to cope with devastation and bear what was once seemingly unbearable.  Having skills and practices to grieve can transform your experiences of loss, disregard and agony.

This is not your typical Grief Group, nor is it a diet industry “cleanse”.

I was having a particularly hard time when I chose to do the Renew Cleanse and there were many times I thought about quitting before I even started.

What happens in the program …

The RELEASE program launches with a one-on-one food consult and grief clarity session, during which:

  • I will assess your Traditional Chinese Medicine Pattern of Disharmony so you can align the whole food reset to your current Qi flow and digestion, giving space for your organs to process so that your inner landscape is fortified and flowing freely.
  • Together, we will generate a list of whole foods for reset week so you are prepared and know what to eat, making it easier to reset and support release and clarity 
  • I will clarify what Grief Integration is and we will discuss what Grief Integration might be for you during this time

For the first four weeks you will be led to practice, prepare and decide each step of the way what you want to do in regards to the Grief in your life.

For the last two weeks we will do a week of whole food eating and a week of reflection and commitment for your new practice of Grief Integration.

In between we have a private online group to swap recipes, share experiences and stay connected.

After your one-on-one session we gather online for four workshops over the course of 6 weeks

  • Session one: Prepare 
  • In this session we meet each other, review the program, practice meditation (movement or breath practice), and check out what grief integrations you may work with over the course of the program
  • There is no obligatory sharing here, if you want to share your experience, please do, and if you do not, please don’t.  Regard is at the center of this program, including regard for your yes or your no.

The time in between groups is where you take what you learn and start integrating with the “smaller” griefs in your life that feel possible.  These “smaller” griefs are potent with real life potential for building capacity for grieving.  No grief is actually small or separate, it is all connected, so when we touch the “small” grief we free the flow of Lung Qi and build capacity.

  • Session two: Embrace
  • In this session we embrace what arrives on the day.  What has Grief Integration been like the past two weeks?  What do you want for the next two weeks?
  • This session is led by me and created by all of us.  What you bring will determine where we go.  
  • I offer a Lung Meditation and sound practice, have presence for what is arising in you and answer any questions you have about where you are at and what Grief integration could be for you now.
  • We check in about the whole foods week and ensure you are clear with what’s what for the reset!
  • Session Three: Reset
  • For one week we eat whole foods to nourish your Lungs and Large Intestine as these are the Organs and meridians that are associated with Grief, sadness, clarity and communication
  • In this session we talk about how the whole foods week is going and do a deep dive into what is here for your Grief Integration practice
  • Session Four: Commit
    • During this workshop the invitation is to integrate what truly worked for you over the past 6 weeks
    • We will look at what was, and you will decide what is next, for your practice so you are supported beyond this program
    • In this session you clarify what worked to be with the grief in your life, decide what Grief Integration is for you and commit to your grief integration practices.
